Waves

James dies on a cool October evening.   
Remus thinks, idly, that the day your life turns itself upside-down should be marked in some tangible way. It should rain. Great buckets of rain should come crashing from the heavens to douse the earth. It should be something foreshadowing. Metaphorical. It should rain.   
It doesn't.   
James dies, and Lily dies, and then Harry doesn't, on an October day just like any other, and it doesn't rain. The sun is just setting, the day turning into night. The leaves are changing from emerald to ruby, with light breezes ruffling the branches of the tallest trees.
